Digital Communications Specialist

You’ll be reporting directly to the National Head of Communications, working within a large marketing comms team as the digital champion for Australia.  It’s a broad role and we’re looking for 3 to 4 years’ experience in digital preferably from a marketing background and degree qualified.  The focus is on content delivery across all digital channels including games, mobile, video and social media.

Activities:
  • Develop and deliver a digital program which links with the global strategy.
  • Plan, execute and analyse all digital marketing activities (web, online, mobile, games, social media, etc).
  • Write and develop compelling content and digital collateral.
  • Ensure online communications are legally compliant, meet accessibility requirements and provide an excellent user experience.
  • Collaborate with all relevant departments to deliver online solutions to further promote activities including:  events, athletes and athlete projects.
  • Offer strategic guidance, write online engagement plans and deliver online projects and campaigns.
  • Work with communications team to maximise efficiencies for content production across traditional media and digital platforms.
  • Identify and research latest trends and seek out new opportunities.
  • Develop and manage relationships with external suppliers and contractors, including web design and hosting companies.
  • Prepare detailed briefs for all projects to external suppliers.
  • Support global digital initiatives (i.e. gaming and mobile phone communication).
  • Provide weekly updates to National Communications Manager.
  • Budget Management day-to-day and monthly budget review meetings.

Skills & Experience:
  • 3-5 years in a similar role, that has managed external stakeholders across digital agencies, creative agencies, database management, website contributors, and bloggers and gaming specialists.
  • Good knowledge of CMS and CRM.
  • Experience and an excellent eye for detail in design, copywriting and editing for online.  An understanding of productions across all digital mediums is desired.
  • An excellent understanding of new web technologies and a proactive approach to incorporating emerging online communications methods into your work.
  • Excellent organisational and project planning/management skills coupled with the ability to work in a self-directed manner.
  • Experience in budgeting and basic financial reporting.
  • Great communication skills to manage internal stakeholders as well as a range of partners and external contractors.
  • A clear understanding of core marketing concepts.
  • Highly efficient and effective project management and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of urban market and popular culture and overall youth and sporting landscape.

It’s fast paced as there’s so much going on so you do need to be able to work in such an environment, if that’s you then it’s a fantastic job.
