Reporting to the Managing Director, this is an autonomous and multifaceted role where you will be responsible for developing and implementing a bleeding edge technology strategy whilst leading and managing a small tech team to deliver multiple online products from concept to go-live. As such, the role requires a seasoned individual with strong tech vision and practical ability to design, build and run the technology.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic and Product Development

• Match new capabilities of new technologies, such as mobile and cloud, with business needs
• Developing and driving the company’s technology strategy including the choice of software, systems, backups, file management and other best practices
• Work closely with Product Development Director to ideate, develop and introduce new products to the business 
• Leadership
• Demonstrate thought leadership and be a significant contributor to the senior leadership team
• Leading a collaborative agile development environment
• Managing the tech team including:
• Developing capital and operational budgets and ensuring that those budgets are complied with
• Resource planning including sourcing and managing suitable permanent and contract staff.
• Effectively managing third party vendors

Development & Maintenance

• Developing cutting-edge web and mobile applications in an agile environment including:
• Assisting with the development of functional specs and writing technical specs for all new or significant projects.
• Maintaining our existing code base to ensure that it is functional, user friendly and secure.
• Developing a regular maintenance plan to ensure we keep the code base up-to-date and functional in new browsers, operating systems or software platforms.
• Deploying new code releases and performing server maintenance at a time that minimises inconvenience to members.
