Congratulations again, from the team at LaVolta.
The Award for 'Outstanding Contribution to Industry couldn't go to a better person than Ollie! He's an excellent bloke and a pioneer of mobile user research and user experience.
IAB Australia is once again seeking to find the absolute "best of the best" in the online advertising industry and you have until May 5th to enter your most outstanding work in the 2011 Awards.
We're very excited that Mercer Bell will be partnering with LaVolta to revamp the websites supporting the FED and Domain events.
Independent Direct Marketing agency MercerBell will be providing conceptual digital designs for the events site and will consult on the technical development and launch strategy for the new platform. The project will be led by Carmela Soarez, Digital Creative Director, who joined MercerBell in October last year.
The goal of the IIA (Internet Industry Association) is to promote a faster, safer, fairer, more trusted Internet for Australia – and in the wake of the landmark iiNet appeal decision they have announced they would immediately start work on an industry code of practice for internet intermediaries, including ISPs, search, hosting and social media providers.
IIA chief executive, Peter Coroneos explained the basis of the IIA's announcement: "Having closely reviewed the recent decision of the Full Federal Court, we've concluded it's both necessary and appropriate to develop a code of practice to give a range of internet intermediaries greater certainty around their legal rights and obligations. The iiNet case has provided us with welcome guidance on where responsibilities should begin and end, but falls short in defining reasonable steps intermediaries should take in responding to allegations of infringement by their users.
Exciting role to drive new initiatives in the mental health industry. Bite Back is all about developing new activities in positive psychology to effect mental fitness for teenagers, in particular 14 to 16 year olds. The role is a mix of marketing, content and project management, it's a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference and would suit someone who understands how to encourage online interaction in an upbeat and motivational way. It sure is wedding season here at LaVolta – our own Sarah tied the knot last Saturday.
We sent along our spies Steve and Andrea (well, they were on the guest list) – all reports back were that Sarah looked stunning, and that the food was incredible (A Zumbo cake and macarons – we're jealous!). Sarah's hubby, Andrew runs the very popular Crabbe Hole at Bondi Icebergs. He's also known for his acting ability appearing in Packed to the Rafters as well as doing star turns with Danny La Rue!
Congratulations Sarah and Andrew and best wishes for the start of your new life together.
