When Deloitte Eclipse decided to appoint a National Technology Director recently, we had some pretty tough criteria for the role – and, not surprisingly given our matrix management approach, they were all different depending on who you spoke to within our organization!
We engaged LaVolta’s Exec Search group on the project. Harris spoke with all the key stakeholders and pulled together a job description and person specification which not only distilled the core needs which we had identified internally, but he also foresaw other things that would be crucial to the role going forward. LaVolta then did the search and, after ranking and refining all the possibilities based on the criteria we’d jointly established, they put forward an excellent shortlist of candidates for interview.
We needed a unique person – someone who was an experienced application developer, a SDLC and PM guru, someone versed in agile and conventional methodologies, someone who knew the entire digital realm from online to mobile, e-commerce to video, someone who could take a birds-eye view and create a technology strategy roadmap for Eclipse and our clients, someone who could speak to CEOs and CTOs in blue chip corporations and also present as our resident technology evangelist at industry conferences and events. We’re very pleased LaVolta helped us find that person in Vishy Narayanan.
